Almost completed digging this Saturday, just a few adjustments had to be made Sunday when the 2x6 form was put together. Turned out pretty good, nice and level. Next I'm going to install one of those expansion boards between the new slab and the existing patio. Then the drain needs to be installed/changed to prepare for the concrete.
So... since I'm taking this as an opportunity to get some exercise... I decided to do most of the digging by hand. Well, that worked out great untill I on last Sunday, I started hitting rocks... not just rocks... but a small mountain side about a foot underground... Ended up borrowing a small jackhammer/drill that was able to get me moving forward... but, I still have a few days ahead of me before I'm below grade.
